Christmas meal planning

Whether you're hosting a crowd or having a quiet celebration, a little planning and preparation will make things easier and could save you time.

Whether you are preparing a meat free Christmas dinner or catering for one or two vegetarian guests you may find some recipe ideas here.

Make a nut roast in advance to leave you stress free on the day. Or try these individual nut roasts or nut cutlets, both of which are freezer friendly.

There are lots of desserts which can be prepared the day before including cheesecakes and mousses. And pastry can be made in advance, and chilled or frozen, ready to make tarts, pies or quiches. Line one or two quiche dishes ready to make a quick and easy meal over the holiday period.

If you haven't already made a Christmas cake is isn't too late. A last minute cake will still be far better than any shop bought cake. And there is still plenty of time to make mincemeat to use in one of these easy baking recipes using mincemeat.

First I would like to share a couple of new posts, lentil ragout and espresso cake. Lentil ragout is a wholesome dish which can be served as a main meal or side.
