Soup season


Cosy up with a bowl of homemade soup! Whether you like chunky vegetables, hearty lentils, tangy tomatoes or spices, homemade soups are just the thing for chilly days.

These vegetarian soups are simple to prepare and make a complete meal when paired with fresh crusty bread.

They are also flexible. If you don't have one of the ingredients or want to substitute something else, in many cases this will work.

If you have any old bread, use it to made some crunchy croutons to add to your soup. Croutons are quick and easy to prepare, are suitable for freezing and help to reduce waste.

Or you could make a loaf of no knead olive bread or some tear and share rolls to enjoy with one of these tasty homemade soups.

Tomato, bean and pasta soup

This easy soup is made using a combination of fresh and pantry ingredients and is simple to make.

Spicy carrot and lentil soup

This golden spicy carrot soup is seasoned with cardamon and is just the thing for chilly days.

Sweet potato soup

Sweet potato soup is a hearty soup seasoned with fresh ginger and makes a tasty lunch when paired with crusty bread or croutons.

Minestrone

Homemade minestrone soup is a tomato based soup with with fresh veggies and pasta.

Winter vegetable soup

Winter vegetable soup is made using a mixture of vegetables together with pearl barley and lentils to make a thick and hearty soup.
